At Iconic Moments, I spearheaded a pivotal partnership with the Pollock-Krasner House, home to Jackson Pollock’s studio.

The studio floor was splattered with enough excess paint from decades of use to make it a work of art in itself. The initiative involved selling digital and printed copies of close-up, high resolution photographs of small sections of the floor, with profits supporting the site’s preservation.

However, the deal required approval from Stony Brook University, who manages the site. Stony Brook was inundated with competing priorities and hesitant about Web3, causing a serious delay in our conversation.

Recognizing that traditional approaches would be ineffective, I needed to demonstrate our genuine respect for the site’s cultural legacy. When my CEO planned to meet Stony Brook in Manhattan, I decided to be there alongside him. But first, I embarked on a day-long journey from Manhattan to East Hampton to visit the Pollock-Krasner House in person. Immersing myself in the studio’s history, I gained invaluable insights from the site director.

Armed with this knowledge, I joined the meeting with the University’s leadership the next day. Instead of focusing on the contract, I emphasized the weight of conserving Pollock’s legacy, aligning the partnership with the university’s mission. This shift in narrative secured their trust, and within 10 days, we obtained his signature on a contract that had been stalled for six months.

During the Iconic Moments X Jackson Pollock project, I also supported product pricing, designed product packaging, and managed the shipping of the museum-quality prints. I’d love to tell you more about this experience, including how I drove a U-Haul from Tennessee to New York with 12 hours notice to make sure the prints got out on time.
